I created the MTD in 2006 to help foster the relationship between all levels of trumpet players.  I noticed my students playing the same instruments they started on in 4th grade throughout their public school time.  This was not because they liked the instruments, it was because they didn’t know what else was out there.  I felt the need to educate not only my students, but also help my local community of musicians. 

    I cannot thank you all enough for the success of the MTD.  I am very happy with the turn out, the master classes, and the performances by our guest artists.        

    Since 2006 the MTD has taken place at Bel Air High School in an old building from 1949.  In August of 2009 the new building, a state-of-the-art facility, opened and has become the new location of the MTD thanks to the staff and administration of Bel Air High School.

    I would like to thank all of the sponsors and artists for their contributions to our event.  You have all had a great influence on many musicians, young and old.
